Women of Purpose Outreach Inc. is pleased to announce the development of our Transitional
housing for First Time Pregnant Teens Program. This outreach program will operate in the
Roseland and Roseland and Englewood community of Chicago, with hopes of launching
no later than January of 2025. Aiming to serve first time pregnant teens mothers ages 13-
19, our program will provide housing for ages 18-23. For first pregnant teens ages 13-17,
our program will education & support, participants with the tools and resources to become
quality parents and productive citizens. Having grown up in the Roseland neighborhood
and observed teen pregnancy, the founder of this program, Linda, seek to share their
insights with pregnant teen mothers and provide them with the support needed to open
doors of opportunity and shape better life chances for them and their children. Amen
We have a clear vision to break the cycle of violence, poverty and sexual abuse young
mothers face by providing shelter, security & guidance that will give them a sense of
belonging and self-esteem. Many children of pregnant teen mothers later become teen
parents themselves, and we also will interrupt this cycle of teen pregnancy with pregnancy
prevention outreach at local high schools and by graduates of our program changing the
normalization of teen pregnancy and the overall sense of hopelessness within the
Roseland and Roseland and Englewood youth community. Our inspired staff and volunteer
base are committed to this vision and are the core support system to help uplift pregnant
teen mothers who are losing hope and are without options or a safe place to be.
We believe that this program will forever change the outcome of these young mothers’ lives
and the lives of their children. Our success stories will become the legacy of our program
and the basis for ongoing funding and community support. Collaborations with the DCFS,
homeless shelters, high schools and the police department will connect us with affected
pregnant teens with our program and will build a network of ongoing community support.
Our program is made possible by seed donors, funding from grants, donations and gifts. If you
are interested in taking action to support this program by volunteering or making a financial
contribution, please contact us at (866) 860-7072 or make a donation to our website using
www.womenofpurposeoutreach.org. Once we raise enough resources to acquire our
facility, we will contact any volunteers who have signed up to serve our program and will
invite you to help us open our doors to the community! We plan to launch in January 2025.
